CONGRATULATIONS TO JANET HOLMES!
they say… Janet should be applauded for all her ‘behind the scenes’ activities, which she takes on with no expectation of recognition She sees things that need doing, and she simply goes ahead and does them… necessary ‘tidying up’… taking home soiled towels and laundering them… sending cards to ill or homebound parishioners … arranging for Masses to be said for deceased members of the Tuesday Coffee Group, which she organizes…
she says… Janet, mother of 5, grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 3, was born and raised in Newton, MA. In the common
practice of ‘downsizing’, she moved to Chelmsford with her family and has been a parishioner of St. John’s for the past 20 years. Her first memories of St. John’s are that of the people… the warm, welcoming, thoughtful, kind and faithful spirit… that still exists today, as she says. Her father, a convert from the Episcopal faith, was her inspiration in her own faith walk, and among her favorite saints are St. Francis and St. Theresa. Janet currently heads up the Tuesday Morning Coffee Group, and is actively involved in the Hospitality Committee, Prayer Group, Altar Guild and Lasagne Ministry. In addition to her volunteer activities at St. John’s, she also gives of her time to the Town of Chelmsford as a checker for Town Meetings, and prior to this summer, was part of a team that assembled Wish Buckets… buckets that are filled to the brim with items to assist families displaced due to fire. And lastly, Janet would like to say “thank you” to whomever nominated her!
